Iimbestigahan Na Ang EXCESS Death Rates ng Bansa

Cong. Dan Fernandez, representative for the lone district of Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, has filed a resolution with the House Committee on Public Order and Safety which he chairs, to look into the excess deaths in the Philippines beginning 2021 and their possible relation to the government measures implemented during the public health emergency of the past three years.

If you think you or your family member has suffered death or injury or a dramatic deterioration in health because of the pandemic measures of the government, particularly the Covid injections, Cong Dan wants to know your story. You may email him at mdfdanfernandez@yahoo.com. Your testimony will help him in his advocacy to ensure this never happens again to the Filipino people.

Using the updated vital statistics releases for 2022 and 2023 with data compilation effective for death registrations received by 31 July 2023, I have updated the by-region deaths. Summary and images are presented. All death registrations for 2021, 2022, and 2023 are still provisional and will increase further as late registrations are received and reported.

This first image shows increases in deaths in both 2021 and 2022 compared to 2020, with raw numbers and % changes. Highlighted in red are the 2021 % increases higher than the average increase of 43.2%. For the 2022 deaths I have highlighted in red any % increase higher than 10% which represent a black swan event, and are far higher than any historical precedent year!

This second image shows the gross numbers of excess deaths in 2020 vs. 2019 (-6,478), 2021 vs. 2020 (265,493), and 2022 also vs. 2020 (65,830).

Here are the by-region breakdown. As you look at these images, do not forget that excess deaths are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, babies, loved ones. All gone before their time, leaving devastated families and communities behind.

In Cagayan valley, the 2023 March deaths are already approaching the death level from March 2021. Deaths seem to be escalating in 2023.

Deaths in Bicol in March 2023 also match the deaths in 2021. What is driving such a high level of excess deaths in 2023? After the mass deaths in 2021, the vulnerable people should have already passed. There should have been far fewer than usual deaths in 2022!

Region VI March 2023 deaths exceed all prior years’ deaths. This does not bode well!

There is a mass mortality event actively ongoing, and likely escalating again, in the Philippines! Pray for the Filipinos! Pray for the World!

Governments, researchers, health system need to take action!

Anu pa hinihintay natin? Gising na tayo!
